A graphic of him in papal robes appeared on Trump’s Truth Social platform. The image, most likely generated by artificial intelligence, shows Trump sitting on a gilded chair, dressed in a white cassock, with a gold cross around his neck and a mitre on his head. The gesticulations of the figure add spice to the whole thing. The source of inspiration for this graphic may have been Trump’s statement from a few days ago. He was asked by journalists about the upcoming conclave.
– I would like to become pope, that would be my number one choice – joked the US president.
Though the statement was meant to be humorous, it sparked a flurry of speculation. Would Trump actually consider such a role? Then, in a more serious tone.
– I have no preference for the choice of the new pope, but I mentioned the cardinal from New York, whom I described as “very good” , he added.
Such a post certainly did not appeal to everyone, and religion and the election of a new pope are very risky topics for jokes. As you can see, Donald Trump does not care about conventions, even if his actions may be perceived as excessive.
When will the conclave take place?
It is worth recalling that the conclave during which the successor to Pope Francis will be elected will begin on May 7. 133 cardinals will participate in this event.
