Leo Messi breaks records again. Another goal that made history

The Argentine maestro continues to have fun in the MLS. Lionel Messi not only saved a draw for the Florida team in Sunday’s clash with Toronto FC, but also made history in the club by breaking another record.
Both goals were scored in injury time in the first half. The first blow came from the visitors, who opened the scoring through Federico Bernardeschi . Lionel Messi equalised three minutes later . The Argentine received a pass from Telasco Segovia and scored with a flat shot from around 16 metres.
Messi has thus broken another club record. The Argentine has become the Inter player with the most goals + assists in MLS history. “Thanks to his goal in the first half against Toronto FC, Lionel Messi has overtaken Gonzalo Higuaín in terms of the number of goal contributions in the club’s history. In 29 games, he has recorded 44 goals and assists. He achieved this figure in 38 games fewer than his compatriot,” it was reported on the league’s official social media page.
This is another record that Messi has broken as an Inter Miami player. In October 2024, he became the club’s all-time top scorer, also ahead of Higuain .
Let’s add that the Argentine joined the club founded by David Beckham in July 2023. Since then, he has played in 47 matches for this team in all competitions. He has scored 40 goals and added 20 assists. His current contract with Inter expires in December
