Putin will do this if Trump doesn’t give in. “Moscow is prepared”

Bloomberg: Russia Hopes for Deal with U.S. on Ukraine War, But If It Doesn’t Get What It Wants, It Will Just Keep Fighting
What is really going on behind the scenes of the peace negotiations on the war in Ukraine ? Bloomberg publishes its information on this subject. According to the American press agency, Donald Trump does not really keep Vladimir Putin in check, but he still counts on a favorable agreement with the United States and sees talks with Washington as an opportunity.
It is primarily about eliminating what the Kremlin calls the “fundamental causes” of the conflict . However, in the absence of an agreement with the United States, Russia simply intends to continue the war in Ukraine. “The Kremlin hopes that it can bring about a face-to-face meeting between Putin and Trump, during which (the leaders) will work out an agreement that will end the war in Ukraine for now – which Trump wants – in exchange for concessions that will ensure that Ukraine remains permanently weakened,” Aleksandr Gabuyev of the Carnegie Russia Eurasia Center told Bloomberg.
Kremlin special envoy: Russia, contrary to popular opinion, does not demand lifting of sanctions imposed on itself
According to a Russian parliamentarian quoted by the Americans, the sanctions that Trump is threatening Russia with would not be severe enough for it. “These sanctions will not affect Russia to the same extent as other countries that need our oil and gas,” said Anatoly Aksakov of the Russian State Duma. For now, the Kremlin’s special envoy Kirill Dmitriev is in the US. “So we are having good discussions (…) But there is no doubt that President Trump’s team has not only prevented the outbreak of World War III , but has also already made significant progress in resolving the Ukraine issue,” he said in an interview with Fox News. He added that, contrary to popular opinion, Russia is not demanding the lifting of the sanctions imposed on itself. “Russia is not asking for the lifting of sanctions because if you look at how our GDP is growing, last year it was 4 percent, compared to only 1 percent in Europe (…) So I think the sanctions can be lifted when American companies want to come back, they want to take advantage of business opportunities in Russia. But now Russia is not setting any preconditions, it is not asking for any specific easing of sanctions,” he said.
