Zelensky reacts to the “Easter truce”. He did not spare strong words

Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced an “Easter truce” — from 6 p.m. Moscow time on Saturday, April 19, until midnight on April 21, Russian troops are to cease military operations. The Ukrainian leader’s reaction was not long in coming. “The shahids in our sky are Putin’s true attitude to Easter and people’s lives,” thundered Volodymyr Zelensky.
Guided by humanitarian considerations, today from 6:00 p.m. to midnight from Sunday to Monday, the Russian side is declaring an Easter truce – informed Vladimir Putin. – Our decision on the Easter truce will show how sincere the readiness of the Kiev authorities is, as well as their desire and ability to comply with the agreements and participate in peace negotiations – added the dictator.
Zelensky bluntly about “Easter truce”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky responded to Putin’s announcement in a Telegram post. “In connection with Putin’s latest attempt to play with people’s lives, an air raid alert has been declared in Ukraine. At 5:15 p.m. (4:15 p.m. Polish time), Russian attack drones were spotted in our sky. Ukrainian air defense and aviation have already begun defensive operations,” he wrote.
The shahedy [Iranian attack drones used by Russians — ed.] in our sky is Putin’s true attitude to Easter and people’s lives,” Zelensky stressed in a Telegram post.
According to Ukrainian media reports, just hours before Vladimir Putin announced the so-called Easter truce, the Russian military allegedly carried out a bombing attack on Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region. Local authorities report that ten aerial bombs fell on the city, and at least six people were injured in the explosion.
